TAMPA, FL (January 16, 2025) — State Attorney Suzy Lopez praises Governor Ron DeSantis’ choice to appoint fellow Hillsborough County native Ashley Moody the U.S. Senate. The Governor chose a strong leader with a track record of supporting law enforcement and keeping Floridians safe.
State Attorney Lopez believes Ashley Moody’s commitment to the law as a prosecutor, judge, and Attorney General puts her in a unique position to advocate for Floridians on Capitol Hill. General Moody will continue to fight against illegal immigration and fentanyl traffickers, which put our communities at risk every single day. The Governor chose someone who has consistently delivered results for Florida and will continue to fight for the values we all hold dear.
