❗Defendant Sentenced to 16 Years in DUI Manslaughter Case❗ A judge sentenced Arturo Antonio Higuera Guerrero to 16 years behind bars followed by 4 years of probation for the 2023 DUI crash that killed his 5-month-old daughter. He pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter, child neglect, and DUI with serious bodily injury. Guerrero was driving impaired on County Road 39 when he swerved into oncoming traffic and hit another car head on. His daughter was in the car and was not restrained properly in her car seat. She died shortly after the crash occurred. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family. We will continue to hold impaired drivers accountable to keep our roads safe.
